MISSION STATEMENT

The St. Joseph Worker Program (SJW) is a new kind of volunteer program that trains, supports, and mentors women to be change agents while meeting direct needs in the community and working for justice.

Team SJW 07-08!

The St. Joseph Worker Program is grounded in the values of

  • justice
  • leadership
  • spirituality
  • intentional community
  • living simply

The SJW program integrates training and development components such as leadership trainings, retreats, workshops, community nights and mentoring relationships to gain skills and explore the core values. The St. Joseph Workers serve in a variety of different placements including

  • education
  • health care
  • advocacy
  • social services
  • spirituality
  • community organizing

In addition to great concrete experience and training the SJW program offers other benefits.

The program is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (CSJ) who are well known for their commitment to the poor and marginalized while working for systematic change. In the tradition of the CSJ's, the SJW program is an inclusive, spiritually based program that encourages each Worker to explore her own spiritual path while putting that faith into action in the world. It is based in the dynamic Twin Cities area in Minnesota.  Please contact us to find out more.
